Robert K. Sornsin - CEO/ Founder
Since founding RKS Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc. in 1990, Bob has remained a hands-on leader, guiding the company with a strong focus on quality, integrity, and performance. A graduate of Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Bob brings decades of expertise in plumbing and HVAC construction to every project.
With a deep understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of the industry, Bob remains actively involved in the day-to-day oversight of RKS projects. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail have been key drivers in the company’s long-standing reputation for delivering successful, high-quality outcomes.
Joe Stachel - President
With more than 30 years of industry experience, Joe has built his career from the ground up advancing from project management and estimating to his current role as President of RKS Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc. He leads all aspects of company operations with a hands-on approach and a commitment to excellence. Joe is a licensed Journeyman in Arizona & New Mexico and holds both the Arizona Mechanical License & the New Mexico Plumbing and Mechanical licenses. His extensive background spans in Design-Build and Design-Assist projects, as well as large-scale Plumbing, Mechanical, and Waste & Water Treatment Plant work
Anthony Abbruzzio - Executive Vice President & Field Operations
With deep roots in a multi-generational plumbing family from New York, Anthony brings a wealth of hands-on experience and industry knowledge to RKS Plumbing & Mechanical Inc. Since joining the company in 2002, he has risen through the ranks—from Field Plumber to Foreman, then General Superintendent, and now Executive Vice President of Field Operations.
In his current role, Anthony oversees all field personnel and ensures smooth construction progress across all projects. He serves as the key liaison between field teams and management, facilitating clear communication and swift resolution of any personnel or project-related issues. His leadership is grounded in real-world expertise and a commitment to operational excellence.
Fernando Rodriguez - Vice President, Mechanical Division
Fernando has been a cornerstone of RKS Plumbing & Mechanical since 2004. He began his career as a plumbing apprentice and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a foreman after just four years in the field. By 2015, with over a decade of hands-on experience, Fernando transitioned into estimating and project management, where he developed a reputation for precision, efficiency, and strong leadership.
Today, as Vice President of the Mechanical Division, Fernando draws on both his technical expertise and his years of field experience to lead teams, drive innovation, and deliver successful projects for RKS clients. His commitment to excellence and collaborative approach continue to shape the growth and success of the company.
Phillip Doran - Vice President Commercial Division
Phillip joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical Inc. in 2002, bringing a strong work ethic and technical skillset that quickly set him apart. Starting as a field plumber, he advanced rapidly to Field Superintendent, where he successfully led large-scale commercial and industrial projects across the region.
In 2009, Phillip transitioned into the office, taking on roles in estimating and project management. His leadership, industry knowledge, and attention to detail led to his promotion in 2012 to Vice President of the Commercial Division. Today, Phillip oversees the company’s commercial estimating and project management teams, ensuring every project is delivered with the precision and quality RKS is known for.
Administration
Lesley Ritter – Payroll, HR & Office Administration
Lesley joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2007, bringing with her more than 15 years of customer service and administrative expertise. Since then, she has become an integral part of the company’s operations, managing payroll and human resources while overseeing the accounting department and office administration team.
With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency, Lesley ensures that both field and office staff receive the support they need to perform at their best. Her leadership and dedication help keep RKS running smoothly, fostering a strong foundation for the company’s continued success.
Monique Gibson - Controller
Monique joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc. in August 2010 as Controller, bringing with her more than 30 years of specialized accounting and finance experience in the construction industry. Her deep expertise in financial management, budgeting, and compliance plays a vital role in maintaining the company’s stability and supporting its long-term growth.
With a strong background in construction finance, Monique provides strategic oversight and ensures accuracy across all financial operations, helping RKS deliver reliable results to clients and partners alike.
Cameron Pinches – Project Accountant
Cameron began his career with RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2012, starting out with filing, inventory management, and warehouse support. Over the years, he gained hands-on experience in multiple areas of the company, spending five years as a parts runner before moving into the purchasing department, where he coordinated material orders and deliveries with jobsite foremen.
Today, Cameron is part of the accounting team, focusing on accounts receivable and supporting the commercial projects division. He holds an associate’s degree in Business Management from Glendale Community College and is dedicated to expanding his knowledge of business and finance through continued experience at RKS.
Reghan Ritter – FARS & Bid Coordinator
Reghan joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2015 and plays a key role in coordinating new project bids, serving as the link between our estimators, project managers, and general contractors. She also manages our specialty Firefighter Air Replenishment System (FARS) division, overseeing quarterly testing and certifications for more than 60 customers across the Valley.
Outside of RKS, Reghan earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Grand Canyon University and shares her passion for fitness and teamwork by training youth club soccer teams.
Christine Evans – Receptionist
Christine joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2021 after relocating from Pennsylvania to Arizona. As part of the office administration team, she handles a wide range of responsibilities, including answering phones, filing, running errands, and providing support wherever it’s needed.
Christine enjoys being part of the RKS team, valuing the company’s welcoming atmosphere and culture of generosity. Her reliability and positive attitude make her a strong contributor to the day-to-day success of the office.
Shelby Tracy – Administration Support
Shelby recently joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical to support the Administration Department, bringing with her four years of experience in the construction industry. In her role, she is responsible for managing contracts, insurance, and pre-liens, ensuring accuracy and compliance across projects.
With her industry background and attention to detail, Shelby strengthens the administrative team and contributes to the smooth operation of RKS projects.
Estimation & Project Management
Chris Campbell – Senior Project Manager/Estimator
Chris joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2006 as a Foreman, bringing with him more than 30 years of construction experience. His background spans commercial, industrial, and institutional plumbing projects, giving him a broad perspective and deep technical expertise.
In 2012, Chris was promoted to General Superintendent in recognition of his extensive plumbing knowledge and leadership skills in managing field personnel. The following year, he transitioned into the office as a Project Manager and Estimator. Today, Chris specializes in hospital and medical facility projects, where he leverages his certification as a medical gas installer and estimator to deliver precision and quality in this highly specialized field.
Matt Fallon – Industrial Project Manager/Estimator
With more than 40 years of experience in the plumbing and mechanical industry, Matt brought a wealth of expertise when he joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2012 as a Superintendent. His career has been centered on commercial, industrial, and hospital projects, where he has developed a reputation for quality, reliability, and technical excellence.
Today, Matt leads RKS’s Industrial & JOC Division, applying his deep industry knowledge to deliver successful projects and ensure the highest standards of performance.
Beyond his technical expertise, Matt is passionate about mentoring the next generation of professionals, passing on his knowledge and helping build a strong foundation for the future of the company and the industry.
Jeremy de la Rocha – Plumbing Project Manager/Estimator
Jeremy joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in July 2019 as a Project Manager and Estimator, bringing 16 years of experience in commercial plumbing projects ranging from small builds to large-scale developments. Since joining RKS, he has managed some of the company’s largest and most complex projects.
With a strong focus on leadership and collaboration, Jeremy ensures every project is executed with professionalism and delivered on schedule, providing clients with a final product they can rely on.
Steve Hallmark - Plumbing Project Manager/Estimator
A graduate of the Associated Builders & Contractors trade program, Steve Hallmark has more than 24 years of experience in the plumbing industry, including over a decade in management. He joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2014 and has since advanced to his current role as Project Manager and Estimator.
Steve has successfully estimated and managed several of RKS’s specialty projects, including Firefighter Air Replenishment Systems (FARS) as well as Cryogenic Systems. Since RKS’s partnership with Johnson Controls, Inc., Steve has overseen all Test & Certifications (T&C) for FARS in Arizona, while also leading installations as RKS has become the state’s premier installer for Firefighter Rescue Air Systems.
Ron Leinen – Senior Mechanical Estimator
Ron joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2014, bringing with him more than 40 years of experience in the HVAC industry. Throughout his career in the Valley, he has built a strong reputation as an estimator, successfully delivering a wide range of HVAC projects.
Before relocating to Arizona, Ron worked as a sheet metal worker in Denver, where he held a Denver HVAC journeyman license. His decades of expertise and hands-on knowledge make him a trusted leader in RKS’s mechanical operations.
Nick Stachel – Project Engineer
Nicholas J. Stachel brings over a decade of industry experience, having built his career from the ground up. Starting as an intern and working his way through roles as a laborer, journeyman, and project engineer, Nicholas has developed a deep, hands-on understanding of every stage of the project lifecycle. In his current role as Industrial & Commercial Project Manager / Estimator, he leverages his diverse background to oversee complex projects with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail. His skill set combines technical expertise in computer science with practical field knowledge, enabling him to solve problems creatively and make data-driven decisions. Recognized for his strong work ethic and critical thinking, Nicholas is committed to delivering exceptional results for clients and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Stephen Sornsin – Project Engineer
Stephen joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant while pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Grand Canyon University, which he has since earned. Over the years, he advanced within the company and now serves as a Project Manager.
In his current role, Stephen manages commercial, industrial, and JOC projects, combining his academic background with hands-on experience to deliver well-organized, successful results for RKS clients.
Courtney Shlee – Mechanical Project Manager/Estimator
Courtney began her career in the commercial plumbing and mechanical industry in 2012 and has developed extensive experience spanning pre-construction coordination through to her current role as an Estimator and Project Manager. She is highly skilled in utilizing and customizing the latest estimation software for plumbing and mechanical contractors, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the bidding process.
Known for her determination, perseverance, and collaborative approach, Courtney is a strong asset to every project she supports, helping RKS deliver reliable results from start to finish.
Marvin McGraw – Mechanical Project Manager/Estimator
Marvin brings more than 30 years of HVAC experience in both residential and commercial projects to his role as Mechanical Project Manager and Estimator at RKS Plumbing & Mechanical. Since joining the company in 2024, he has applied his deep industry knowledge to managing and estimating mechanical projects with precision and care.
Dedicated to his continued growth at RKS, Marvin is committed to delivering quality results and supporting the success of every project he takes on.
DJ Glenn - Project Engineer
DJ Glenn joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in October 2016, bringing more than 20 years of experience managing land development projects in the construction industry. In her role as Assistant Project Manager, she not only supports project delivery but also mentors Project Engineers, helping to strengthen the next generation of RKS leaders.

Magda Gamez – Project Engineer
Magda joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2024 as a Laborer and quickly advanced into the role of Safety Coordinator, where she was responsible for site safety walks and ensuring the well-being of field teams. Her commitment to safety and strong organizational skills led her to transition into the office, where she now serves as a Project Engineer.
In her current role, Magda supports Project Managers by coordinating projects and helping ensure they are delivered smoothly and successfully. Her versatility and dedication make her a valuable member of the RKS team.
Northern Arizona Division
Chris Nadolny – Northern Arizona Operations Manager
Chris began his plumbing career in 1986 as a plumber’s helper, working his way up in the field and earning his journeyman’s license in 1993. Just two years later, he advanced to foreman and went on to oversee major commercial projects, including hospitals, schools, and casinos.
In 2010, Chris joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical and has since become an integral leader within the company. When RKS opened its Flagstaff office, Chris took on the role of Branch Manager, where he also serves as Estimator, Project Manager, and Superintendent. He now oversees all projects in Northern Arizona, ensuring they are delivered with the quality and professionalism RKS is known for.
Carson Nadolny – Project Engineer
Carson began his career with RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2017 as a runner before moving into the field to learn the plumbing trade. After earning his journeyman license, he relocated to Flagstaff to contribute to RKS’s Northern Arizona projects.
Recently, Carson transitioned into the office, where he is training as a Project Engineer. His hands-on field experience and dedication to learning continue to make him a valuable member of the RKS team.
Superintendents
Michael Orr – General Superintendent
Michael joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2013 as a Mechanical Foreman, where he led some of the company’s largest and most complex projects. With more than 20 years of HVAC experience, his leadership and ability to manage teams made him the natural choice for General Superintendent of the Mechanical Division.
In this role, Michael oversees operations across the division, guiding teams to deliver projects with efficiency, safety, and the high-quality standards RKS is known for.
Edgar Cubillo – General Superintendent
Edgar has worked with RKS Plumbing & Mechanical Inc. for over 20 years. He joined RKS in 2001 as a field plumber. Three years later, he was promoted to foreman. Edgar ran the field for our industrial division for ten years as he was certified in welding, industrial piping, and more. Throughout his career, Edgar supervised numerous large commercial and industrial projects. After 18 years as a foreman, Edgar accepted the position and became a superintendent in 2022.
Gabriel Guerrero – Plumbing Superintendent
Gabriel brings more than 25 years of commercial construction experience to RKS Plumbing & Mechanical. Before joining the company, he spent nine years as a Commercial Framing Superintendent with a large out-of-state construction firm.
He began his plumbing career as an apprentice, quickly advancing to Leadman and then Foreman before being promoted to Superintendent. Today, Gabriel oversees numerous commercial projects and manages field crews, ensuring each job is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Mike Jaycox – Plumbing Superintendent
Mike began his career with RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2007 as a plumbing apprentice, quickly rising to Leadman and then Foreman. In 2009, he became a certified medical gas installer, setting the foundation for his career of specialization in highly technical projects.
Today, as Superintendent, Mike oversees all of RKS’s hospital, clinical, and ASU science lab medical gas projects. He leads a team of 28 certified installers, ensuring every project is completed safely, precisely, and to the highest industry standards.
Safety
Bryce Basey - Safety Director
With more than 30 years of experience in commercial construction, Bryce leads the RKS Safety team and has been instrumental in earning recognition from ADOSH with the SHARP Award for excellence in injury and illness prevention. His dedication to safety and innovation continues to set the standard across the company.
Bryce is a 502 Construction Outreach Trainer (UCSD), NITC Medical Gas Instructor, American Red Cross Instructor, National Safety Council Driving Instructor, and UPC/IPC Instructor. He also developed a QR code system that provides all RKS employees with immediate access to safety documents and processes, ensuring resources are always available in the field.
Seren Ozcan – Safety Manager
Seren joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2018, bringing with him a background in technology and cloud-based software to support the Service Department. In 2020, he transitioned into the Safety Division, where his skills and dedication quickly made him an integral part of the team.
John Koprivec – FARS/Fleet/Hiring Manager
John began his career in plumbing at just 18 years old as an apprentice and, through hard work and determination, advanced to Journeyman Plumber and later Foreman. His expertise led him to oversee the Firefighter Air Replenishment System (FARS) field operations as Senior Install Technician, where he played a key role in building and growing the division.
Today, John serves as Fleet and Hiring Manager while continuing to support and train FARS technicians. His combination of field experience and leadership ensures both the growth of the FARS division and the success of RKS’s field operations.
Service Department
Mike Lynd – Service Manager
With 25 years of experience in the HVAC industry, Mike Lynd joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2016 as a Lead HVAC Technician in the Service Department. His technical expertise and leadership quickly set him apart, leading to his promotion to Service Manager.
In his current role, Mike oversees all aspects of the Service Department, from daily operations to estimating service projects. His deep industry knowledge and commitment to customer satisfaction ensure RKS delivers reliable solutions and high-quality service to every client
Allen Hubbard – Service Superintendent
Allen joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2019 as a field plumber and was quickly promoted to Project Foreman. His strong work ethic, dedication, and attention to detail led to his advancement into the Service Department, where he now serves as Service Superintendent.
In this role, Allen oversees and mentors a team of 12 Service Technicians, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. His leadership and field experience make him a key part of the Service Department’s success
Yvonne Ayala - Service Controller
Yvonne joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2016 as an Accounting Assistant and, through her hard work and dedication, advanced to her current role as Service Controller. She now oversees all accounting and invoicing functions for the Service Department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
Proud to be part of the RKS family, Yvonne looks forward to continuing her growth with the company while supporting the success of the Service team and its clients.
Purchasing
Joe Buonemani - Purchasing Manager
Joe began his career with RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2001 as the company’s in-house runner. Always eager to learn, he took the initiative to study the products he handled, research suppliers, and build relationships to secure the best pricing in town.
In 2011, Joe was promoted to the Purchasing Department, where his extensive parts knowledge and resourcefulness make him a vital asset to RKS’s operations. His dedication ensures the right materials are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively for every project.
Terry Lawry – Purchasing Agent
Terry joined RKS Plumbing & Mechanical in 2016, bringing with him over 10 years of experience in plumbing wholesale and retail. His strong background in the industry has made him a valuable member of the Purchasing Department, where his knowledge and expertise help ensure projects receive the right materials on time and at the best value.
